Human and environmental destruction (augmented by the ascendance of the far right during the reign of Trump) continued to be an existential threat. Challenging and disrupting the status quo through artistic practice became part of many women’s lives.

In Circumvent, all ages of female life are under attack, along with earth and its creatures. Yet the central young woman holds out her heart as she births the next generation. My imagery, both dark and comedic, is part of my resistance.
