Seated on his lotus throne, this hybrid elephant/man god is here to help us overcome obstacles. Animated “Minions” and mythical entities (serpent and mouse vahanas) weave in and out of the picture plane.
Ganesha, often described as red in color, has the head of an elephant, a big belly, and four arms. One hand holds his own broken tusk. Another holds a bowl of sweets (modakas) that he samples with his trunk. One hand holds an ancient axe (to which I added the latest iPhone watch). Seated on a giant lotus, he calmly punctures Covid spheres. He embodies the past, present, and future and is one of the best-known and most worshiped deities in the Hindu pantheon.
Considered to be the God of New Beginnings — we could sure use him NOW!!
