This puzzle piece version of “White Tara meets Pokémon”has quite a history from its first mixed media version (2020) to its becoming a jigsaw puzzle (2021), to its incorporation into this current painted iteration–“Puzzled.” And I am still puzzled by all this piece brings up for me as I struggle towards post pandemic evolution. Female heroines (dressed in camouflage) climb/run/flow from the border frame into the picture as they link to rock, water, plant, and monster life. Sourcing from ancient to pop culture, I am searching for any glimmer of the future.

One of my stay-at-home learnings was how to do a jigsaw puzzle. I realized that putting shapes and colors together is actually what I do all the time in my art!
