As an elder artist and veteran feminist, my concern is generativity and the passing of the torch. While the flame still burns bright in me, I can only pass on seeds. Myself becoming earth, I cherish every aspect of nature and hope that new caretakers, women and men of all ages, will find better ways to nurture Mother Earth.

Second wave feminism needed a big roar to kick in the revolution it did—but today I mainly feel tenderness. Physically using my own shirt as the torso of my body, I depict my time-worn hand holding a Bird of Paradise as it morphs into a second arm and a flame. I draw, stitch, and paste together my piece of the whole with compassion for future generations.
